Reticulated beetle: photo, description of the beetle

Reticulated beetle - a beetle, which is a representative of the ground beetle family, belonging to the genus of the beetle.

Beetle appearance

Reticulated celandine is not large in size - the length of the body of the beetle reaches 20-27 millimeters.

Reticulated celandine (Calosoma reticulatum).

The head and pronotum are bronze, metallic green, but sometimes it can also be black with a bronze tint. The antennae, legs and mouth are black.

The elytra and the ankle have a wide convex shape. Pronotum coarse - covered with dots and wrinkles.

The beauty of the beauty of the net

Reticulated beetles live in the fields and open areas of the steppes. Most often they can be found in beet fields. In Europe, they are mainly found in pine forests and arid steppes. Sandy soil is suitable for these bugs.

Activity in reticulate beetles is observed in spring and early summer, but there are later individuals that are active in late summer - early autumn.

Beauties are on the verge of extinction.

Females lay eggs in May-June. One female brings about 70 eggs. They develop about 2 months. Beetles spend the winter in the soil. A new generation is selected from the soil in April-May.

Reticulated beetles are polyphage predators. They eat mainly caterpillars, and other invertebrates, which are hunted at night.

Habitats of mesh beetles

These beetles live in Europe: in Poland, Denmark, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary. They can also be found in central Kazakhstan and in Russia, for example, in Tobolsk and the environs of Orenburg.

Endangered Species

Reticulated beetles in Central Europe are not common. For example, in Germany these beetles were last seen in 1995. On the territory of our country, the species is very limited and is close to complete extinction.

Reticulated beauties die out due to human fault.

Most likely, the main factor that contributes to the extinction of the species is human economic activity, which leads to a reduction in the natural habitat for these beetles. As a result of field treatment with insecticides, a large number of beauties die.

Mesh dyeing cod is listed in the Red Book of our country, the first category is assigned to it, which means that the species is under threat of complete extinction.
